Marking of wooden beams

Definition of Task

Wooden beams, from which weight carrying glued constructions are manufactured, are marked after measurement with a three digit number for sortation

Besides the three digits, the sorting number is also coded in an 8 X 8 dot 2D data matrix
This is automatically read out on the sawed side of the wooden beam with a hit-rate of more than 90% and allows the automatic production of wood piles in different quality grades
The beams pass the print head at a right angle with speeds of up to 90 m/min, under heavy vibrations in a dusty environment
