Printing on Steel Coils
Definition of Task
- steel coils are marked in the typical dusty and heavy industrial steelwork environment in plain text with at a character print height of 140 mm
Special Product Specification
- a special ink is used with a nozzle diameter of 270µ with multistroke font set on factor 4, on the partial scaled steel surface
- the print head is moved over the printing surface by means of a robot arm at a precisely constant distance with a printing speed of approx. 30 m/min.
- the temperature of the coils at the time of the actual printing is up to +160 degrees Celsius
- the operating environment temperatures range of –5 to +40 degrees Celsius depending on the current season of the year
- printing information: weight, coilnummer and order number

Advantages of the REA JET Solution
- by use of a highly pigmented white ink a very well readable typeface is printed on the partial tindered steel coils
- short drying time of the ink onto coils which are up to +160° Celsius warm
