Direct marking of wood - overview in the production - REA JET HR

Cutting and wood marking in one machine

WEINIG Dimter GmbH & Co. KG is the world market leader in the field of cross-cut saws and gluing presses. In Illertissen, more than 200 employees develop and work on machines and systems for the entire process chain of solid wood processing. Global customers attach great importance to maximum flexibility at highest performance during continuous operation. WEINIG Dimter offers a modular machine concept, which can be varied in many different ways and can be customized with just a few settings. As there is a high demand for coding and marking of wood, they integrate premium printing systems of REA JET.

Automating processes thanks to coding and marking technology

Wood marking offers numerous possibilities for controlling the production as well as internal and external logistics. Parts can be identified and assigned easier. Thus, they can be processed more quickly. The application of machine-readable codes in turn improves the automation of fabrication and makes all processes transparent. The marking of dimensions can be helpful while the application of logos can boost brandings. IPPC marking is compulsive.

Industrial-suited all the way

Machines of the OptiCut series cut individual boards, board packages, profiles or round bars made of solid wood, but also wood materials and plastics. In view of the increasing demand for timber marking, WEINIG Dimter and REA JET have steadily expanded their cooperation in the recent years. There is a solution for almost every requirement. For example, the robust REA JET large character inkjet printer has been integrated hundreds of times for marking  rough-cut, planed or smooth surfaces clearly legible - even in a dusty environment. The REA marking system manages coding and marking tasks under difficult conditions. It withstands vibrations and strong temperature flactuations. It can be used with 7, 16 or 32 nozzles and prints characters up to 140 mm in height or even larger characters by combining multiple print heads.

Trend: high resolution timber marking

For high-resolution wood marking, the REA JET industrial printers of the HR series are particularly suitable. They are easy to handle and have a low ink consumption. The reliable, maintenance-free system is based on the proven HP cartridge technology. This ensures fast and clean exchange of ink cartridges as well as a consistently precise result. Moreover, the excellent marking allows the application of 2D codes for production tracking.

Added value as a competitive advantage

Very early, WEINIG took notice of the added value by integrating the most capable marking systems on the market. Thus, they provide their customers all-in-one solutions from a single source. For eight years, the Kammeltal-Behlingen located company Holz Weißmann has been using a WEINIG OptiCut machine for their longitudinal cutting. For marking palett runners with an IPPC logo, they integrated a state-of-the-art REA JET HR marking system three years ago. A real competitive advantage, as Managing Director Thomas Weissmann reports: "Thanks to the integrated, high-resolution wood marking system, we could accelerate production, increase efficiency and convince new customers."

WEINIG demands uncompromising integration capability

WEINIG Dimter provides process optimization and maximum wood output. The product area cutting / gluing is the first step within any solid wood processing and forms the basis of a rational and modern production. Therefore, REA JET marking systems are fully integrated into the cross-cut saws and gluing presses using  a state-of-the-art interface technology. The marking system is operated completely via the machine control of the WEINIG Dimter system. From the control to the software, customers receive a perfectly matched practical system solution from a single source. The use of high-quality industrial standard components guarantees short delivery times, high availabilitiy and operational reliability.

Prepared for the future

Customers expect and get a professional coding and marking solution. In the case of the REA JET HR, they even get a maintenance-free and solvent-free system. It is user-friendly to control and is prepared for remote maintenance access. Due to their high requirements, WEINIG Dimter relies on REA JET technology for direct wood markings. REA JET systems have proven successfully under the most difficult conditions, such as changing speeds of the sliding saw. Martin Kuntschik, Development Engineer at WEINIG Dimter, has identified further advantages: "The high-quality REA JET systems are robust, reliable and fast. In our production, they are able to achieve 3,000 markings per hour. This is by no means the limit. In addition, REA can offer a worldwide service just like WEINIG Dimter. "

Proven quality

For 35 years, REA JET has been developing and producing marking systems for contact-free, industrial coding and marking. The portfolio includes inkjet printers, laser and spray mark systems, labeling solutions as well as inks and consumables. The practical products have proven globally in a wide range of industries and are 100% Made in Germany. With the launch of the latest generation of the DOD 2.0 inkjet printer, REA JET presents the result of a consequent further development and an enhancement of the proven printing technology. Customers in the field of wood marking benefit from decisive advantages: Thanks to using state-of-the-art high-tech materials, REA engineers could increase the market leading sturdiness and durability of their print head technology further on. With the REA JET Titan platform, REA provides the most innovative and versatile operation system on the market. The interplay of the doubled print speed and the REA JET Titan Platform form a practical and future-proof system. In the future, WEINIG will continue to work with the coding and marking experts of REA JET as a guarantee for high-quality, reliable machines, excellent service, recognized competence and success in international competition.
