"Professionals" show marking in the wood industry

In the 16th video of the Marking Professionals from REA Elektronik, things get pretty hearty - at least visually.

Mühltal, August 15, 2022 - "Wood is a great material - affordable and now also available again," Daniel Wege (Business Development Manager at REA Elektronik) sums up in the latest video from the Marking Professionals from REA Elektronik. Wege and Frank Debusmann (Sales Director national Coding and Marking Systems) show how a tree is turned into a material ready for shipment in their usual lively style in part 1 of their "Wood Special" of the film series "Marking Professionals on Site". And all dressed up: In traditional carpenter's clothing, including a golden earring, they don't go on a tour, but through Ladenburger GmbH Holzwerke in Bopfingen. The resulting video with the title "Marking and labeling of construction timber" is online since today.

Direct marking and labeling with systems from REA

Around one million solid cubic meters of roundwood are processed each year at the sawmill in Bopfingen. It comes from sustainable cultivation. This means that every tree felled is replaced by a new plantation - and travels a maximum of 200 kilometers to reach the sawmill. It leaves the mill again as glued laminated timber or wedge-achored construction timber. Before this, the trees are measured, sorted, debarked, cut and dried before they are further processed into glued laminated timber boards or solid timber beams, planed, bundled and packed. Joachim Hoffman, responsible for Sales & Marketing at Ladenburger, explains to the Marking Professionals how this is done.

The audience also learns about the technology used in the REA JET product line and the special trick used to mark each board and each piece of wood individually and reliably - with the place, date and time of production, product name, CE marking and DIN standard to which it conforms. A system from REA LABEL is used for fully automatic labeling of the bundled and foil-wrapped boards. How it marks not only the side of the packages, but also their front side - this and much more can be seen in the latest episode of the video series.

Meanwhile, Wege and Debusmann are on the road again for more interesting marking applications and solutions - and if all goes according to plan, the next video in the "REA Marking Professionals on Site" series will go online on the REA website on September 15.
