Whether diced, sliced or en bloc - always correctly marked

Not all cheese: In their 15th video, the professionals from REA Elektronik show "Marking in the food industry with NiceLabel connection".

Mühltal, June 16, 2022 - As long as the milk is in the cow, there is no doubt about its shelf life and origin. But when it leaves the cow and then still the farm and is processed and packaged elsewhere into different types of cheese, important information must be legibly applied to the individual packaging and entire pallets. The 15th video in the series "Marking Professionals on Site" from REA Elektronik shows exactly how. The film entitled "Marking in the food industry with NiceLabel connection" is online as of today.

Not everything is cheese in the latest video from the Marking Professionals - even if that's what Heinrichstaler Milchwerke GmbH in Radeberg is mainly about. The process from the source of the main ingredient to the finished product is highly professional. To follow the process, Daniel Wege (Business Development Manager at REA Elektronik) and his colleague Frank Debusmann (Sales Director national Coding and Marking Systems) first visit the cows on a farm in the Rhön. From there, their route takes them to Radeberg and through the factory. Clemens Richter, Technical Manager, explains to them how, from raw milk to curd and whey to ripening, the common varieties of Gouda, Emmental, Tilsiter and Co. as well as extravagant cheese specialties are produced and packaged in one piece, slices or cubes.

Marking with direct printing and labels

To ensure that the correct information and best-before date are printed on each product, years ago dairy plants used to apply labels to each individual package by hand. Today, this is done by 14 systems that use direct printing to print a barcode for external identification and a 2D data matrix code for internal logistics. The data for this is obtained from the Loftware-NiceLabel software, ensuring not only identical-looking marking for all products, but also smooth product changeover. The labels, which are applied to the front and long sides of the pallets ready for shipment at the end of production, are generated in the same way. Watch the video to find out why Heinrichstaler Milchwerke decided for REA JET and REA LABEL systems and which ones they chose.

The Marking Professionals remain curious - and so another video "Marking Professionals on Site" will go online on the REA website (www.rea-jet.com) on July 15. Those who are familiar with the series or who are professionally involved in industrial coding and marking can already start guessing where Wege and Debusmann will end up.
