REA Elektronik - Partner of the woodworking industry in digitalization

Full-range supplier showcases its range for industrial coding and marking at LIGNA 2023

Muehltal, April 5, 2023 - Digitization along the woodworking value chain is one of the major themes at LIGNA 2023 in Hanover, Germany, from May 15 to 19. Digital product marking is one of the central factors for optimizing manufacturing through automation and networking. The coding and marking specialist REA Elektronik has been a competent and reliable partner to the woodworking industry for more than 35 years and will be showcasing its innovations and powerful portfolio for customized solutions with ink, laser and label at LIGNA.

No modern wood production without marking. This starts with their importance for internal processes such as production planning, networking of machines, wood flow control and warehousing as well as internal and external logistics. And it extends to their relevance for customer information on dimensions and article numbers, recognition through company logos, traceability, and fulfillment of requirements of various sales markets such as CE and IPPC marking. The focus is not only on the reliable marking of wood itself, but also on secondary packaging of various materials.

REA Elektronik will be presenting its extensive range of systems for marking wood products and packaging with ink, laser and label to the wood industry at LIGNA 2023. Its experts know the needs of the industry and develop custom-fit solutions for each company that meet its requirements and the state of its automation - from stand-alone solutions to full integration into production and plant control. Thanks to state-of-the-art interfaces, REA Elektronik's systems are fully Industry 4.0-capable.

One for all: the REA JET TITAN Platform
For marking with ink and laser, the REA JET TITAN Platform makes work as easy as can be: once learned, its simple and intuitive operating concept can be used to control all the marking technologies in the REA JET product line. In addition, it can be integrated into the company network and operated using a PC, tablet or smartphone. Diagnosis and assistance can be provided online via its integrated remote maintenance tool if required.

With the new Touch Controller, all this is even easier: Instead of using buttons or knobs, it is controlled by touch on a screen like a modern smartphone - and this is even possible while wearing gloves.

Marking - durable and low in consumables
The REA JET CL is the laser of choice for marking wood with codes and information for serialization and traceability. The CO2 laser is robust, consumable-free and reliable even under the most adverse conditions such as temperature fluctuations, humidity, dust pollution and vibration. It leaves its captive markings even on difficult surfaces.

Where laser marking is not an option, the REA JET HR Inkjet Printer can be used. Its print heads deliver the best print quality with a resolution of up to 600 dpi, adjustable in 16 steps - if required, also overhead, i.e. on the underside of the wood blank. To anticipate surprises, cartridge fill levels are permanently displayed, and a new print unit is available with each new cartridge - making the REA JET HR maintenance-free. At LIGNA, REA will be presenting the REA JET HR 2.0 print heads, which have been significantly improved in many details. Significantly more compact, easier to integrate and more flexible, their special design also helps users to avoid accidentally damaging the nozzle foils when changing the valuable HP cartridges.

The completely newly developed REA JET UP uses piezo-based direct printing. UP stands for "Universal Print". With its innovative ink formulations and high drying speed, the system prints high resolution content on open-pored surfaces such as wood, paper and cardboard, as well as on coated and painted surfaces. And it does so with a print height of 108.4 mm, a maximum print resolution of 360 dpi (vertical), 1,500 dpi (horizontal) and three times faster than comparable printing systems.

The REA JET DOD 2.0 Large Character Inkjet Printeris used for large prints and images on both non-absorbent and absorbent materials such as wood. One application example is the application of oversized logos on stacked wood to increase brand awareness.

Inline label printing and applying in one are handled by the REA LABEL DLS continuous print and apply system. With their modular design and the freedom to choose between different application forms, they can be individually adapted to the conditions on site and significantly increase the degree of automation in production.
