Direct Marking for unmixed Plastic Recycling

REA Elektronik presents Innovative Digital Printing at Fakuma 2023

Mühltal, August, 2023 – Direct marking using digital print data enables the single-sort recycling of plastic products. This aligns with the theme of this year's Fakuma 2023, the international trade fair for plastics processing: "Digital meets Circular Economy." Industrial marking systems by REA JET address this approach. The systems will be on display from October 17 to 21.

As an internationally positioned full-range supplier, REA Elektronik offers the entire spectrum of industrial marking - from digital direct printing with laser and ink to labeling and verification of the applied information with regard to its readability and conformity. At Fakuma 2023, REA Elektronik will focus on showcasing its most innovative systems for digital non-contact marking from the REA JET product line and code verification systems from REA VERIFIER. As a souvenir, visitors can take home personalized lipbalm marked with the REA technologies at the booth.

Regardless of the REA JET technology, they can all be operated with the REA JET TITAN platform. This reduces error rates and training efforts for users of various REA printing systems. Moreover, it simplifies workforce planning.

Adaptable Cabin for Laser Processing

The REA JET FL fiber laser is fully consumable-free. Powered solely by light, it triggers a color change in plastic or integrated additives, generating variable data markings, codes, and markings of all kinds. These markings remain intact throughout the product's lifetime, facilitating traceability. REA Elektronik demonstrates the fiber laser integrated into the laser processing cabin at Fakuma 2023. Its adaptable concept and auto-focus function enable precise customization according to customer requirements. Options range from standalone manual workstations to fully automated networked marking stations. Variables include process chamber size, laser power, placement, and marking field, as well as material input and output.

Versatile REA JET HR

The REA JET HR inkjet printer is a multi-talent. It produces high-resolution markings with excellent adhesion and readability, even on non-absorbent or difficult to mark surfaces like extruded plastic or injection-molded parts. Whether alphanumerical text, logos, or variable information like dates, times, counters, shift codes, and database content – up to four print heads can be combined based on print message size, delivering markings up to 50.8 millimeters in height. And they remain attached to the plastic part for its entire service life.

With its innovative "wet-on-wet" technology, the REA JET HR saves users from having to apply labels to surfaces that are difficult to mark, such as smooth transparent or dark foil, and also from the associated logistics and warehousing. And last but not least, it helps keep plastic products sorted by type - for a high recycling rate. Inline and reliably, the REA JET HR applies machine-readable codes and clear text. With its double print head, it first prints a white ink colored field and then immediately prints black or colored ink onto it before both dry together.

Also on display at Fakuma: The REA JET SC 2.0 marking system. The high-performance small character printer for 1- to 8-text lines, any data as well as logos, Data Matrix codes and barcodes was specially designed for industry. With "continuous ink jet" printing, in which a continuous droplet jet is deflected electrostatically, it ensures optimum print quality on smooth surfaces such as plastics, foils or even glass and metals. With good resolution, high printing speeds and extremely short drying times, it can be integrated into just about any production line.

Visitors will not only be able to benefit from the expertise of REA employees in marking and code verification at the REA booth itself. In his technical presentation on Tuesday, October 17, from 10:20 to 11 a.m. in the Exhibitor Forum, Conference Center East, Room Berlin, Frank Debusmann, Sales Director national Marking Systems, will address the topic of "Innovative Marking Solutions for the Plastics Industry."
