Aluminum Products – Customized and Traceable

Today, aluminum products have to perform better than ever before—including when it comes to marking. Learn how we enable traceability throughout the entire production chain with innovative solutions for standards-compliant, process-reliable, and future-proof marking. Visit us October 6–8 at ALUMINIUM 2026 in Duesseldorf, Hall 5, Booth 5B01.

Mühltal, July 20, 2026 – Aluminum is versatile and fully recyclable. However, rising energy prices, growing competition, and stricter regulations are increasing the pressure on manufacturers. Digitalization and automation can help alleviate this pressure. But they require reliably provided information—as does the increasingly demanded traceability. At ALUMINIUM 2026, the specialist REA Elektronik will showcase its solution for cost-effective, standards-compliant, process-optimized, and future-proof marking throughout the entire production and supply chain.

The Digital Product Passport (DPP) alone imposes new obligations on manufacturers: Starting in 2030, anyone wishing to sell aluminum products in the EU has to assign a digital identity to all products and ensure their durability, reparability, and traceability. An applied code is intended to provide links to digital data records containing additional information. The challenge: Even under the demanding conditions of aluminum production, the code has to be reliably applied and maintain readability throughout the entire product life. Hand in hand with the increasing digitization and automation of manufacturing, marking is evolving from a purely production-related task into a key component of digitized manufacturing processes.

With its integrated systems for industrial coding and marking and code verification, REA offers the highest level of process reliability: These systems prevent production downtime, reduce scrap through controlled code quality, and thus help lower marking costs. At ALUMINIUM 2026, the specialist from southern Hesse will demonstrate which technologies and innovations are best suited for which applications.

Ink and Laser for Unambiguous Identification

The REA JET DOD and REA JET ST marking systems reliably mark large-format markings on aluminum profiles, aluminum ingots, sheet metal, and coils: material designations, lot numbers, logos, and, above all, 2D Codes. The new REA JET ST SRE-10 electric spray mark block sets new standards in the world of industrial coding and marking. Its electrically controlled spray mark heads ensure precise control at high speeds and produce very large, well readable markings with a height of up to 206 millimeters. This makes the REA JET ST SRE-10 particularly well-suited for inline marking on fast production lines for tubes in the aluminum industry—if needed, even with hot-marking inks that withstand temperatures up to 1,100 degrees Celsius, and annealing-resistant inks for temperatures up to 650 degrees Celsius.

Manufacturers of aluminum profiles will be interested in the wet-on-wet technology of the REA JET HR Inkjet Printer: In this process, multiple colors are applied directly one after the other without requiring any drying time in between. In a single step, the colored field and text, codes, or other important information are printed in high resolution with high contrast and excellent readability. Together, they dry so fast that production throughput is not affected—and labels that peel off are a thing of the past.

The REA LASER HD laser engraving system permanently marks aluminum components—for example, for the automotive industry or other sectors with high safety standards. The high-performance fiber laser, with up to 500W, precisely and permanently engraves plain text, Data Matrix codes, or serial numbers into the material using deep engraving.
The REA LASER LC 400 laser cabin is ideal for high-volume laser marking and for use even in confined production lines. Its REA LASER FL fiber laser was especially developed for marking metals such as aluminum.

REA Elektronik offers its customers consulting, integration, and service all from a single source. With decades of experience, this full-service provider for marking and verification develops and manufactures all components and systems in Germany.
